“For me it’s a no-brainer.”
Eva Jinek announced last year that she was leaving RTL to return to AVROTROS. And that comes with a huge salary, she says now.
No brainer
Eva announced a new adventure a few months ago, although it is not completely new. The presenter worked at the public broadcaster for fifteen years before announcing her switch to RTL in September 2019. She signed a four-year contract there in 2020. Now she is returning to AVROTROS and that was a conscious choice. “I get a different kind of life that suits me much better,” she says in the Roos program on NPO Radio 1. She now has more time for her husband and children. “I see my children growing up like this too. For me it’s a no-brainer.”
Huge salary
She gets more time with her family, but she loses out on salary. An NPO presenter earns a lot less than at the commercial broadcaster. “It was also an unreal salary, that’s just true. It was fantastic,” she says. But even now she can’t complain. “The salary I get now is still a huge salary.” At AVROTROS, Eva can reportedly earn a maximum of 233,000 euros.
Current affairs & culture
After the summer, Eva’s new talk show will start with current affairs and culture as a basis. And longer conversations. “I like great conversations that last a little longer than in my talk show in recent years.” She can be seen Monday through Thursday at 7:00 PM. Khalid & Sophie move to later in the evening. “I always thought doing a show in the late evening was fantastic. But soon I can just see my husband in the evening and take my child to school,” she concludes.
