The finalists of Expedition Robinson 2023 have now finally been announced. After surviving for more than a month on the tropical island, Willem, Guido and Ilse appear to be the strongest of all candidates. Although some viewers have a bad taste in Ilse’s victory due to a somewhat spontaneous adjustment of the rules. It doesn’t feel entirely fair to them how she wins against Jochen and audience favorite Mark.

Semi-final in Expedition Robinson
The final steps in Expedition Robinson also indirectly provide some more peace for the candidates. Although of course they also experience some stress here and there, because it is certainly exciting. The grand finale is in sight and only three of the five remaining candidates are allowed to continue. As usual, a big test awaits them in the semi-finals. Probably not as extensive as the final test, but the candidates certainly have to prove themselves. They do this in three different tests: an endurance test, mental test and physical test.
The endurance test seems completely suitable for audience favorite Mark, who wants just about every viewer to pass. However, puzzle king Willem, who has been considerably depleted by island life, wins. So you don’t expect him to have that much endurance, but nothing is as it seems!
Famous food test
So Mark still has to prove himself together with Guido, Jochen and Ilse. They turn out to be the lucky ones who get to play an iconic Expedition Robinson test: the famous food test. Oh oh! Fortunately, they have presenter Nicolette Kluijver next to them, who has many years of experience with the eating test. At a distance, of course. Ilse then turns out to be the weakest link and is the first to drop out. Although she doesn’t find that a problem at all, because it was her “biggest nightmare”. So she watches, gagging, as the rest continues to eat. Or well, tasty. Crowd favorite Mark also doesn’t keep it down easily. He almost makes it, but then loses to Guido. The last goat balls slid in him a little more smoothly and faster. Blegh…
Strange rules during trial
While finalists Willem and Guido are chilling on Winners Island, Mark and the Expedition Robinson viewers are still full of excitement during the final test. The last physical part is between Mark, Jochen and Ilse, for which it seems like a piece of cake as a former top athlete. However, Ilse then has some difficulty shooting small marbles. Presenter Art Rooijakkers realizes it and then indicates that the candidates are only allowed to touch checkers with marbles. Normally the discs should fall completely backwards, but in the end they handle this more smoothly. Something that TV viewers are quite surprised about on social media channel X. Where does the slightly spontaneous adjustment of the rules come from? Viewers find it strange and it doesn’t feel entirely fair when Ilse later wins the entire test against Mark and Jochen. She becomes the third and last finalist after Willem and Guido, but according to some viewers it leaves a bad aftertaste:
