Queen Máxima had an opening in her agenda today. She opened a Dushi House in Waalwijk. For those who don’t mean anything: a Dushi House offers children and young people aged 4 to 18+ years, who can no longer live at home, a long-term, safe home.
Dushi House is a small-scale residential facility for children who, due to circumstances, can no longer live at home, in a foster family or family home. Children come to live at Dushi Huis when they are between 4 and 12 years old and have already lived in different places within youth care. Dushi Huis usually houses eight children and a permanent team helps with the upbringing and development of the children. Using the Dushi Methodology, they help children discover their talents and develop their basic confidence so that they can learn to stand on their own feet. Where possible, parents are involved in growing up. Dushi Huis was founded by Alex de Bokx and has been around for twenty years.
Fashion
Normally the queen wears a hat during an opening. Why she doesn’t do that today is anyone’s guess. In terms of clothing, she opted for an emerald green Shantung silk dress and a blue cashmere coat. Both items come from Natan’s studio and have been in service for several years.
