Máxima has her skirt lengthened for her visit to Colombia

For the UN visit to Colombia, Máxima had her green deux-pieces altered by fashion house Natan.

The Queen is in Colombia because of her work for financial inclusion. Colombia has made good developments in the field of financial inclusion. 60 percent of adults now have a (bank) account. This was only 39 percent in 2011. Despite the increase, there are large differences nationally. Disadvantaged groups include small businesses, small farms, people living in remote areas and women. As an advocate of the UN, Queen Máxima will emphasize that everyone should be able to have access to financial services.

Fashion
For the UN visit, Máxima had a deux-pieces from 2013 edited. The skirt has become a few centimeters longer by stretching the hem.

On the left the shorter version, on the right the longer version (with a narrow hem).

The set has served several times over the years.

There are several butterfly brooches in the royal vault. Today’s is the first to be discussed in our blog about butterfly brooches.
