In the series ‘This or that’ we vote for the most beautiful styling of a garment, accessory or hairstyle. Today we take a closer look at Máxima’s blonde locks.
In the state portraits released this morning, the queen wears a soft pink dress by Jan Taminiau. (left) A few months ago I saw this creation up close, during the state banquet in Brussels. (right) At the time, Máxima combined it with an asymmetrical hairstyle and the Stuart diadem without the Stuart. In the state portraits, a different bun is visible, with a lock of hair hanging loosely over the forehead. The diadem is the same, but placed more forward. Just say it: which look do you like better?

Before you click an option in the poll, I would also like to show you the rear view. In the photo below you can see the hairstyle of the state portraits. The hair is stacked in layers on top of each other. Symmetrical, so that a piece of bun is visible on both sides of the head.

The hairstyle in Brussels is very similar, but is looser and asymmetrical in design. The bottom layer is artificial hair.

Halfway through the evening it subsided slightly. Can happen at temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius, right? The arrow points to the hook through which the hairdresser has slipped a pin. This way the diadem stays in place.

Okay, time to vote. You name it:
