Bibi Breijman about her children: ‘Happy that they can grow up as brother and sister’

‘I am proud that I can tell them that love is always the most important thing’

Last week, Bibi Breijman announced that she was expecting her third child. In the latest Grazia, the singer, who already has a daughter and a son, tells more about motherhood and her new pregnancy.

Proud mother

“I am proud that I have two children who are healthy and who are doing well,” Bibi says proudly about daughter Teddy and son Chester. “And I am proud that I can tell them that love is always the most important thing. Furthermore, I am happy that they can really grow up together as brother and sister,” she says. “My own brother and sister have a different father and I am eight and nine years apart from them, so we were in different stages of life. I could really watch with love how they grew up together and were friends for life, and I wish that for my own children too.”

Other choices

Would Bibi have made a different choice in her relationship if she had not had children? “Maybe so,” she admits. “I’m not going to let my children suffer from mistakes we make as adults. I personally felt the sadness of a divorce at a young age. That feeling that I really wanted to go with my father in the evenings or at the weekend, because I had missed him so much, but I didn’t really want to leave my mother either. And when my father left, I had to cry because I felt sorry for him,” says the singer. “Even though my parents did a very good job together – their love for me was always central – you still carry a loss as a child, and I don’t want that for my own children.”

Pregnancy

Last week Bibi announced that she is expecting a third child with Waylon. Unfortunately, she had to go to the hospital shortly afterwards because she was once again suffering from severe pregnancy sickness (HG). When we spoke to Bibi for this interview, she did not yet know she was pregnant. “I’m only seven weeks pregnant,” she tells us now. “I would have liked to keep it private, but that is difficult when you suffer from HG,” she explains. “We are very happy!”
