Princess Amalia says goodbye to her teenage years today. On the occasion of the twentieth birthday of our heir to the throne, the RVD released a ‘new’ photo at the stroke of 6 a.m.
The word ‘new’ is in brackets, because the portrait is part of a photo series of King Willem-Alexander, Princess Amalia and Princess Beatrix, which was released at the beginning of this year. A photo of the princess alone was missing at the time and has therefore been added to the gallery today.
The princess is wearing a black/dark blue pantsuit from Marina Rinaldi. The pink version of this was worn on King’s Day on April 27, 2023.
The trouser suit also featured at the reception on the eve of the British coronation.
The photo was taken in the Balcony Room at Noordeinde Palace. Just look at the back right corner. The stand with candlestick has been moved slightly, the flowers near the stove are also just visible. Because this room is used for swearing-in ceremonies, presenting credentials and receiving dignitaries, it is perhaps the most photographed room at Noordeinde Palace.
