See: Queen Máxima proves herself to be a true fashion queen in the Philippines

From a completely black ensemble to colorful floral!

Her Majesty did not have very long to recover from her birthday. On Monday evening, Queen Máxima set foot at Manila airport again. She will visit the country until Thursday to discuss the development of financial services.

Financial inclusion

Financial inclusion and financial health are central during our Queen’s visit. The financial health in the country leaves much to be desired, partly because the enormous island group has poor access to financial services and services. This makes it difficult, especially for people with low incomes, to access these resources. For example, only 51.4 percent of the adult population has a bank account. Because of her work for the United Nations, Máxima will discuss the various development options for the country.

Her Highness arrived on the scene on Monday evening in her go-to airplane outfit. For the trip, our queen dressed up in a travel outfit that we often see her in: black from head to toe.

She opted for a comfortable pantsuit and combined it with the shoe trend of the moment: slingbacks! Hers are from the Spanish label Toral.

Get to work

There was no way to recover from any jet lag for a long time. Two field visits were immediately scheduled for Tuesday. For example, the Queen visited a fishing community, where she immediately addressed the group that is most excluded from financial services. The fishermen often live in remote areas and the infrastructure leaves much to be desired. Something that makes it difficult to make good financial services available.

Serious business, which at the same time yielded some beautiful snapshots of our queen.

For the visit, Her Majesty dressed in a floral, airy dress by Vanessa Seward x Bloom Paris, which we remember from a UN visit to Tanzania in 2022.

Even with a life jacket on, our Máx still manages to steal the show! After her visit to the fishing community it was time to visit a so-called sar-sari store, a kind of small neighborhood shop. Here she discussed, among other things, loans, something that is a major challenge for local entrepreneurs.

After the colorful field visits on day one, Máxima will continue today with a busy program in Manila. For example, roundtable discussions with President Ferdinand R. Marcos and various ministers are planned, and she will visit a university.
