Yesterday Máxima introduced a new ring and it is not just any glitter.
If you are surrounded by millionaires and billionaires, you can easily get a killer ring as a gift on your birthday. It happened to Máxima when she saw Sarah. Her Greek friend Marianna Vardinogiannis (1937-2023) gave her a very expensive ring with a large cabochon cut emerald. (Cabochon is a cutting method in which the stone is cut convexly.)
We had to wait almost three years for it, but last night it finally happened. During the dinner with the Nigerian president, Máxima wore her friend’s gift.
When I saw the ring, I immediately thought of a ring with a cabochon cut emerald of 90.38 (!!!) carats from the London jewelery house G by Glenn Spiro. If the queen actually received this jewel as a gift from her friend, I hope she wears it again very soon. Don’t get me wrong: we are talking about one of her most beautiful and most expensive rings.
