And the little one’s name is…
It’s party time in Luxembourg! The Grand Ducal Court announced last night that Princess Alexandra and her husband, Nicolas, have welcomed their first child.
Grandchild
Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa can’t believe their luck! After becoming grandparents in January this year with the arrival of a son for Prince Felix and Princess Claire, the stork has now visited the Luxembourg court again.
Short but sweet
With a simple message on social media, they announce that Princess Alexandra, the only daughter of the grand ducal couple, gave birth yesterday. No sweet photos of the little girl or images around the maternity period, but just a short but sweet announcement of the big news. The name of the youngest member is immediately revealed. And it reads…

That’s right: Victoire! In addition to the pink plaque, the court writes: “The Grand Duke and Grand Duchess have the great pleasure to announce the birth of their granddaughter Victoire, the first child of their daughter Alexandra and son-in-law Nicolas, born this Tuesday, May 14, in Paris.”
It can be read that both mother and daughter are doing well.
Happy family
Victoire is the first daughter for the Luxembourgish princess and her Nicolas. They got engaged in November 2022, and in April 2023 the couple tied the knot in a two-part ceremony. First, the civil wedding took place on April 22, followed by the dreamy religious ceremony on April 29.
With Charles, François, Amalia, Liam, Balthazar, Gabriel, Noah, and now little Victoire, Henri and Maria Teresa now have eight grandchildren. So little Victoire has plenty of nieces and nephews to entertain herself with in the palace!
And experience with these previous grandchildren shows that it will probably not be long before the Grande Duchesse shares the first snapshots with her granddaughter on Instagram. Just a little more patience!
