And Princess Charlotte is also a big fan of it.
Of course we all know Lady Di as the late Princess of Wales, but did she always dream of this royal title? No definitely not. Diana had mapped out a completely different path for herself. She did not want to become a princess, but she saw herself as a ballet dancer.
Dream job
And that this dream was not just one from her youth, it became clear when a ballet teacher was even hired at the palace. Believe it or not, Charles did support Diana in this. The ballet teacher hired was Anne Allan, who said this about the princess: “When I first met Diana you could see there was enormous shyness. Over time, as they engaged in our dance lessons, we realized how much dance meant to her.”
It soon became clear that dancing helped Diana feel better about herself again. “She loved the freedom of being able to move and dance. She loved it,” said Allan.
Charlotte is also a fan
And that ballet runs in the family is also one thing that is certain. The pointe shoes can still be found in the palace, because Diana’s granddaughter Princess Charlotte is also apparently a big fan of ballet. Princess Kate revealed this in 2017, when she said her daughter “absolutely loves ballet.”
Prince William also sometimes has to take cover when the young princess does a pas de bourrée through the house. “Charlotte is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet gear and everything,” said one proud father. The little princess – just like her grandmother – receives lessons in the palace, but also at her school. Well, why wouldn’t you use the princess treatment?
