The British royals also celebrated Father’s Day!
The British had a busy weekend! On Saturday there was the annual Trooping the Color ceremony, which of course had to be celebrated extensively. And on Sunday, just like in the Netherlands, Father’s Day was celebrated. Prince William and Princess Kate – or at least their kids – shared a sweet snapshot for the occasion via social media.
Father’s Day
On Saturday we saw Prince William in full uniform, wearing a bearskin on the saddle. It was a stark contrast to the snapshot that the Waleses shared on social media the next day:

“We love you, daddy. Happy Father’s Day,” reads the short yet powerful message accompanying the photo. Was signed, G,C & L – or George, Charlotte and Louis. Cute!
In the image we see the proud father with his three kids posing in casual outfits in the dunes. Wills wears a sporty cap on his head, and the four wear matching blue outfits.

An extra nice detail: the caption also reveals that the photo was taken by none other than Princess Kate. After the fuss surrounding that edited Mother’s Day photo, it is of course nice to see that the princess was not deterred by this.
This also makes the photo the third time we have heard from the Princess of Wales this weekend. For example, on Friday she shared a photo with a candid message about her chemo treatment. On Saturday she made her first public appearance in almost six months, and on Sunday we saw a snapshot of Kate’s hand.
Trooping the Colour
Of course, the Wales brood was also present at Trooping the Color last Saturday. They rode in a carriage with their mothers, and beamed on the balcony of Buckingham Palace next to both their parents.
Even when life is bad, the family can clearly count on each other. And that is of course worth a lot!
