We can not wait!
It took a while, but we finally know when the brand new series Máxima will be shown on Videoland. We will put a big circle on April 20 in our agenda, because from that date the six-part series about our queen can be streamed.
Teasers
In February last year, Videoland announced that a drama series about the life of Máxima was in the making. Since then, the streaming service has shared one teaser after another: from the first snapshot from the set to the title song and the very first images of the series. However, we were in the dark about a release date for months – until now!
April 2024
Videoland announced in a press release that we can finally start streaming Máxima in the spring of the new year. From Saturday April 20, an episode will be shown every week. A small refresher: the series is based on the book Motherland: The Young Years of Máxima Zorreguieta by Marcia Luyten, and tells the story of Máxima’s life – from her younger years in Argentina to her current life as Queen of the Netherlands. The starting point of the series is the first meeting of Máx and Willem-Alexander in 1999. A small preview of that moment recently appeared:
Leading roles
As previously announced, the leading roles in the series are played by Delfina Chaves (Máxima) and Martijn Lakemeier (Willem-Alexander). The role of Princess Beatrix is played by Elsie de Brauw, and Sebastian Koch takes on the role of Prince Claus.
Another royal series
The first images already promise a lot and we can’t wait until we can finally start the series. In the meantime, luckily we have another royalty program to entertain us with. Yesterday it was announced that a sequel to The Story of the Netherlands will be shown on NPO 1 from January 31, this time with the Oranjes in the leading role. Another thing to look forward to!
