A number of important changes have been made.
Every now and then it’s nice to completely change course, and Prince Harry and wife Meghan must have thought so too. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex launched a new website, which has implemented a number of important changes.
sussex.com
On the eve of their trip to Canada, the Sussexes launched the new website. When you visit Harry and Meghan’s former website – Archewell.com – you will now automatically be redirected to the new domain: Sussex.com. And what is immediately striking is that the couple is consistently referred to by their official royal titles.
A photo of the Sussexes dominates the main page, and the text reads: ‘The Office of Prince Harry & Meghan, The Duke & Duchess of Sussex’. Harry and Meghan’s Office consists of their communications team and personal staff, and it’s quite likely that the royals’ communications team runs the website.
Biographies
Sussex.com contains biographies of Harry and Meghan, showing what the royals are involved in and what they stand for. For example, a quote in both biographies reads: ‘The Duke and Duchess are committed to their mission: Show Up, Do Good. They believe that charity work should not just be a gift, but rather a hand to hold.” In addition, the many (charitable) organizations in which the couple is involved are linked at the bottom of the biographies.
Updates
It is expected that the Sussexes will also use the new site as a platform for updates, both officially and personally. For example, things have already been written about Harry’s recent trip to the NFL Honors in Las Vegas, where he presented Pittsburgh Steelers’ Cam Heyward with the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. The couple has not yet set up any associated social media accounts. But, is it just us, or does the new website strongly suggest that we will be spotting the Sussexes more in public in the coming months?
Lightning visit
There are also changes going on in Prince Harry’s private life. At the beginning of this month, it was revealed that his father, King Charles, is suffering from a form of cancer. Despite the considerably cooled relationship between father and son, the prince immediately boarded a plane to London to visit Charles. Harry’s abrupt journey is seen by many royalty watchers as a possible step towards reconciliation.
