You can also enjoy the royal spectacle in Germany! A few weeks ago, Queen Margrethe of Denmark (83) announced that she would abdicate as regent after 52 years. Her son Prince Frederik (55) and his wife Princess Mary (51) are scheduled to take over the scepter on January 14th. Frederik and Mary’s coronation will also be broadcast on German TV!
As Oddsmeter reports, Das Erste is broadcasting the handover live on German television. From 2:15 p.m. the station will keep viewers up to date on the royal spectacle with “Frederik X. – Denmark’s New King”. The special is moderated by Niharika Sen. Royal family expert Leontine von Schmettow is also there, as is the Danish singer Gitte Haenning (77). Afterwards there is a report about the Danish royal family.
If you would like to find out more about the Danish royals, you can tune in to the special broadcast on ZDF at 6 p.m. The station broadcasts “King Frederik X – Change of Throne in Copenhagen”. In the special, presenter Christina von Ungern-Sternberg and royal family expert Julia Melchior summarize the change of throne again.
