Máxima had a dress thoroughly altered for the Prix de Rome award ceremony.
The Prix de Rome is the incentive prize for visual artists from the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. The aim of the Prix de Rome is to stimulate the development of visual artists, increase their visibility and thus continue to update the visual arts field. The winning artist receives an amount of 40,000 euros and the opportunity to participate in a residency program of their choice. The prize has been organized and financed by the Mondriaan Fund since 2012.

As mentioned in the introduction, Máxima had a dress thoroughly altered for the festive award ceremony. Natan’s design now features a wool bodice, while the skirt was previously attached to a velvet top.
