Being a celebrity on the streets can be quite a challenge. You get spotted by fans and paparazzi and that can be quite tiring. Paris Hilton has a very simple solution for this: a wig.

Paris Hilton has hundreds of wigs
Paris Hilton is busy promoting her new album Infinite Icon, and she sat down with Bebe Rexha for Nylon magazine. During the chat, the two artists discussed how they deal with fame. Bebe mentioned that the paparazzi never left Paris alone in the 00s. But Paris is used to it all. “Nothing fazes me anymore,” she explained. “Wherever I go, whenever I’m eating dinner, people are always coming up, and I always am so polite. I’ll take photos with everyone. Sometimes I feel bad because I’m with my family and I don’t want to take away the time from everyone, but then I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. I have such empathy for people, so I never want anyone to feel sad.”
Despite the fact that Paris is used to all the attention, she still wants to be able to go out incognito every now and then. Especially when she’s out in public with her husband and kids. To make this happen, Hilton takes some pretty drastic measures. “The way I deal with it now is I’ll be in a full disguise,” she told Rexha. “The black, short wig… Well, I have hundreds of wigs. So it could be any color with giant sunglasses, a hat, a hoodie, sometimes a face mask. Just to be able to be undercover and run around and do fun stuff and be normal.”
Paris and her life as a celebrity
In the interview in Paris, she also touched on the fact that her relationship with fame has changed since having children. “In the start of my career, I felt like fame was the ultimate validation,” she said. “And of course I was happy, but it does leave you feeling empty inside if you don’t have that real love.” Hilton no longer sees fame as something that motivates her. Still, she wants to continue to use the fact that she is famous for positive goals. In the interview, she called it her “superpower to make others happy.”
