It will be a cold, stormy Christmas in the Netherlands. Fortunately, you can warm yourself up with hot chocolate, mulled wine and the special Christmas version of Ryan Gosling’s Barbie hit I’m Just Ken. OMG? Especially for fans of Ken and the live-action film, the actor drops a new version with fun jingle bells from him and Mark Ronson. Of course, a Christmas message to his sweetheart Barbie cannot be missed!

Not only the Barbie live-action film itself was a great success last summer, various soundtracks also received good reactions. As fans and viewers of the film, we were especially impressed by I’m Just Ken, sung by actor Ryan Gosling (aka Ken in the film). People still enjoy listening to the song. It is therefore not surprising that Ryan is now coming up with a special Christmas version. Mariah Carey, move over! He has dropped a video clip on YouTube in which Ryan and music producer Mark Ronson perform the Christmas version of I’m Just Ken. Before the special performance, Ryan jokes: “The world can have Ken’s voice, but only Barbie can have his eyes.” We then see a video clip completely in the Christmas spirit with colored lights everywhere. At the end of the video, ‘Ken’ also wishes his ‘Barbie’ (and the rest) a Merry Christmas, of course. Aww!

The song I’m Just Ken from the Barbie live-action film became a great success for good reason. The song shows a more sensitive, personal side of the man. Suddenly we see not only a man’s exterior, but also what a man can think. In the film, Ken struggles with himself. He doesn’t know how to behave. According to the makers of the Barbie live-action film, they have actually written a lot more about Ken. We may see these storylines in a spin-off about Ken. However, it is not known if and when the spin-off will come. They are still in the creative phase anyway. Well, we’ll wait patiently.
