Here in the Netherlands it only rains and we are done with that. You too? Our thoughts are already focused on the summer holidays and the fun trips that are planned. But which suitcase is best for fun city trips and wonderful sun holidays? We would like to give you a few tips.

Format
It is of course very important for which holidays you need a suitcase. Do you often go away for the weekend? Then choose a handy small suitcase. You can use this for hand luggage and save time and money when flying. Do you like to relax for two weeks at a resort every year? Then choose a large suitcase with many compartments. This will separate the sunscreen from your beautiful evening dresses and your slippers from your bikinis. Do you like long and far journeys? Then a backpack is the best option for you. Are you not a fan of carrying around and would you rather take your entire wardrobe with you? Then buy an extra large suitcase with wheels.
Soft or hard
What is more convenient, a hard or a soft suitcase? Both have their advantages. The biggest advantage of a hard suitcase is that it protects the contents well. A disadvantage is that you cannot stretch it. For the shopaholics on holiday among us, it may therefore be better to opt for a soft suitcase. You can fill this suitcase with all your new shopping items. These suitcases often also have several compartments on the outside. This is useful for your shoes or for items that you need immediately when you reach your destination.
2 or 4 wheels
This is not a difficult question. Four wheels is the answer. A suitcase with four wheels, also called a spinner, is extremely useful. At Schiphol, through the city or just for the short distance from the taxi to the reception. With a spinner you do not carry the weight of the heavy suitcase and you can easily put it down.
Black or leopard print
One loves black, the other a pink leopard print. There is no accounting for taste and you should definitely buy a suitcase that suits you completely. We do give you a tip that it is better to choose the pink leopard print instead of the black one. The more eye-catching your suitcase is, the easier it will be to find on the baggage carousel. It saves you having to search again and you don’t have to worry about someone else running off with your suitcase. Not a fan of leopard print? Don’t worry, a nice bright blue or funny stickers will also do the job.
Cheap is expensive
All kinds of different brands and shops offer suitcases. It is tempting to go for a cheap suitcase. We completely understand that, but when it comes to suitcases, cheap is often expensive. Your suitcase is not handled with care at the airports. Many suitcases cannot withstand the tossing. Cracks appear or the zipper does not hold the tension. How is it possible that the zipper doesn’t hold? We never stuff our suitcase full, right? Choose a high-quality suitcase that will last your entire travel life.
