Excess, luxury, and of course a lot of scandal and sensation… no wonder we are all fans of the Netflix series Bridgerton. A new costume drama will soon appear on Dutch streaming services, based on the books by Jane Austen. Naturally packed with costumes, opulence and excellent actors!
New costume drama
We are eagerly awaiting the third and fourth seasons of Bridgerton, but in the meantime we can also prepare for something else fun. Are you also a fan of everything that has to do with Bridgerton? Then we have good news for you. This December, the costume drama Sanditon will appear in its entirety on NPO Plus.
Sanditon
Anyone who is addicted to Jane Austen’s books now knows exactly what we are referring to. In fact, it is the one she never finished; the author died when she had written eleven chapters. And, the British decided to make a series about it. The third and final season of the costume drama was broadcast on the BBC earlier this year and will be available on NPO Plus on December 7. Not a fan of Christmas movies? Then this news comes at just the right time!
Storyline
We are of course pleased that after Sanditon’s success abroad, our little country is now also following suit. Because a new series in which rich and powerful characters, dressed in the most beautiful costumes, have to deal with intrigue, love and ambitions? Of course we want to see them!
In the drama, Charlotte Heywood ends up in the coastal town of Sanditon in Regency times, increasingly popular with the wealthy of England. And you may have guessed it: she soon discovers many secrets and intrigues among the locals.
Now that Bridgerton is still a while away, we consider this to be the perfect pastime if you don’t like Love Actually and The Holiday – something we can’t imagine!
