A day full of glitz, glamor and cameras for the lovebirds.
Yesterday was a special day for Davina Chaves and Martijn Lakemeier and the entire team behind the new Video Original Máxima. They have arrived in Cannes for a real world premiere. That this was a dream come true was clearly evident from the faces of lovebirds Davina and Martijn.
Maxima
Soon we will finally be able to enjoy the brand new drama series Máxima in the Netherlands. The Videoland Original about – you guessed it – Queen Máxima promises to be a great success. The series has already been sold to several countries and even had its world premiere last night during the Cannes International Series Festival.
In case you missed the news about this series, we would like to catch you up: Máxima is based on the book Motherland: The Young Years of Máxima Zorreguieta by Marcia Luyten, and tells the story of Máxima’s life – from her younger years in Argentina until her current life as Queen of the Netherlands. The starting point of the series is the first meeting of Máx and Willem-Alexander in 1999.
Shine in Cannes
Delfina Chaves takes on the role of Queen Máxima in the series and Martijn Lakemeier can be seen as King Willem-Alexander. The two are not only lovers in the series, Delfina and Martijn are now also a happy couple in real life! So it’s not surprising that they beamed from ear to ear during the world premiere in Cannes yesterday!
During the pink carpet event, Martijn appeared in a black suit from the Dior men’s collection. The outfit is from the spring/summer 2024 collection. Celebrity stylist Tommy Driessen was responsible for the styling of the main characters. Looking good, Martijn!
Delfina also appeared in a look to die for. The actress wore a long black evening dress, with a deep silver V-neck with flowy details. The outfit is from haute couture brand Stephane Rolland. In one word stunning!
Please be patient
We can’t wait until the series can finally be seen in the Netherlands. Fortunately, we only have to be patient for a little while longer, because the Dutch premiere is scheduled for next week. Glamial will be present, so stay tuned for the most beautiful red carpet looks and interviews with the cast and celebrities!
