We haven’t seen Kate since her appearance at all kinds of royal Christmas outings in December. Kensington Palace announced today that her absence will continue for a while. The princess has undergone a successful abdominal operation and will have to recover in hospital for ten to fourteen days.
Kensington Palace Statement
“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to the London Clinic yesterday for a planned abdominal operation. The operation was successful and she is expected to remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days,” Kensington Palace said in a statement. “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normalcy as possible for her children.”

Because Kate wishes her personal medical information to remain private, Kensington Palace will only provide updates on her recovery when there is important and new information.
“The Princess of Wales would like to apologize to everyone involved for having to postpone her upcoming appointments. She looks forward to meeting as many people as possible again as soon as possible,” Kensington Palace concluded the statement.
Fortunately, the court reports that the operation was successful and that the princess is doing well under the circumstances. Of course we hope that Kate will take all the time and rest to recover properly. Lots of strength on behalf of Glamial!
