And this morning a nice reader question appeared in my mailbox: does Máxima have a private swimming pool at Huis ten Bosch?
The inspiration turned out to be the Netflix series l’Agence, where a French real estate family buys and sells the most beautiful houses for the elite. Whether it is an apartment in the heart of Paris or a country retreat in Barcelona: a swimming pool is (almost) always part of it.
Máxima can also take a refreshing dip at Huis ten Bosch Palace. Near the wing where she lives with her family there is a tennis court, fitness room and swimming pool. You can view all mentioned parts via Google Maps. Number 1 is the private wing of the palace, number 2 is the pond where ice skating takes place in the winter, number 3 is the tennis court, number 4 is the fitness room and number 5 is the swimming pool.

During the renovation in 2018, a large deck was installed that connects the Oostelijke Pieter Posthuis (where the princesses can also throw parties for friends) with the swimming pool. In addition to eight sunbeds, there are five seating areas and a trampoline (bottom left).

I have never been to this (eastern) Pieter Posthuis, but I have been to the mirrored one on the right of the palace. The ground floor consists of a large open space, a lobby and toilet. Upstairs are some rooms with fitted wardrobes and the powder room.
And while we are inspecting the palace garden, I would also like to point out the gray ‘spot’ near the pond. This is a gazebo, near the place where Willem-Alexander asked Máxima to marry him.

In this photo you can see the gazebo in the background.
