Whether it’s to impress your tree-hugger mother-in-law, because you like to believe you’re pretty spiritual, or because you just find it really interesting: palmistry is hot! And here’s how to do it.
Palmistry for Beginners
Although palmistry is all the same to us, there are three different ways to read your hand: by the shape of your hand, the lines of your hand or the hills on your hands. We are going to focus on the lines of your hand, which is also called palmistry.
What do the lines mean?
The three lines we are going to focus on are the life line, the head line and the heart line. These lines are not only the most visible on your hand, but are also the most important lines. Before we start, it is good to know that the left hand is the mirror of your soul, desires and feelings. That is why it is best to (start) reading this hand. Your right hand represents your talents. In addition, the lines of your left and right hand can differ considerably.
Palmistry: Lifeline
Contrary to what most people think, the life line says nothing about the length of your life. So don’t worry if you have a short life line. The life line says something about your quality of life. To start, you can look at where your life line is approximately. If the line is quite high in your hand, this means that you are ambitious and self-confident. If your line starts a bit further down in your hand, then you are a bit on the insecure side.
If your life line does not come close to your Mount of Venus (the curve at the bottom left of your hand that connects to your thumb), then you are a curious person, you need freedom and you can handle changes well.
Because the line is a reflection of yourself, the line can also change. Unfortunately, it sometimes happens that you have to deal with sadness or stress. This will also be visible on your hand. Your life line will then be broken one or more times. If you have many interruptions on your life line, then you have (at the moment) a vulnerable emotional or physical health.
Palmistry: Headline
The head line is a reflection of how you think. It shows what you believe in and how you stand in life.
Someone with a clear and deep head line is an independent, rational and realistic person. If you have a short head line, this means that you can remember things well and that you are down to earth. A long head line shows that you are creative and have a lot of imagination.
Breaks in the head line can mean that you do not always make the right choices. If your head line is close to your heart line, this indicates that your mind often comes before your feelings. If it is the head and life lines that are close together, this indicates that you are a reliable person.
Palmistry: Heart Line
Your heart line says something about, surprisingly, your feelings. It also shows you how ambitious you are and tells you something about your choice of partner.
If you have a clear and deep heart line, it means that you are an emotional person. A thick heart line means that you have great empathy. The length of your heart line (on your left hand) shows how emotional you are. With a longer life line, you are more emotional than with a shorter life line. A shorter life line can mean that you often think about yourself. Your right hand shows how idealistic you are in society.
If your heart line (from under your ring finger) does not extend beyond your index finger, you are a perfectionist and you are looking for this in your partner. In love, your mind comes after your feelings. If you have a so-called fork at the end of your heart line (the line splits), this means that you always give 100% and that you have a lot of energy.
Palmistry: Double Lines
It doesn’t happen often, but it is possible that you have a double line, for example a double life line. This also says something about you as a person.
A double life line, also called a sister line, means that you are an enthusiastic person and have a lot of energy. A double head line indicates that you are a smart person. If your head lines are close together, this is called a parallel line. This is very rare and means that you are a very social being. A double heart line means that you will not quickly expose yourself to your environment. You prefer to only show your nice side and keep your gloomy moments to yourself.
