On the occasion of the 40th birthday (2011) of Mabel’s sister-in-law, the then Princess Máxima, Mabel opted for a blue dress with a characteristic print by Emilio Pucci. One of her favorite designers at the time.
On Queen’s Day in 2011, Princess Mabel went for a nice, colorful look. A lovely bright red dress with 3/4 sleeves and a shawl collar. Although, I’m still wondering how this dress actually fits from the front. And check out that cool coat with wide cuffs and those pumps! I can’t manage to walk in heels like that, can you?
It remained very quiet around Mabel for a long time after this. As we will all understand due to the accident and death of Prince Friso, almost 1.5 years later. In the following period we mainly saw Mabel dressed in dark clothes. It was a dark period in her life. I must say that I loved the way the family involved her when she arrived at certain activities she was going to. It’s nice that she didn’t have to walk past the photographers alone. For example, in 2015, Princess Mabel attended the celebration of 200 years of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Here she wore dark blue wide trousers, with a jacket from Zara.
During the Prince Claus Award ceremony in 2016, Princess Mabel wore a bright pink dress with embroidery.
During the 3rd presentation of the Prince Friso Engineering Prize (2017), Princess Mabel wore a dark blue lace dress from SelfPortrait.
In 2017, Princess Mabel attended festivities on the occasion of the 80th birthday of King Harald and Queen Sonja. It was not surprising that she was invited, since King Harald was Prince Friso’s godfather. Apparently the ties with Friso’s family are strong, which is nice to see. During this period, Princess Mabel still wore quite a lot of black. On the Royal Yacht of the Norwegian Royal Couple, Princess Mabel wore a black trouser suit with bird print from Zara.
During the same festivities, Princess Mabel also wore a black dress from Nikkie. It’s great that Princess Mabel regularly chooses Dutch designers/brands! Also abroad.
In December 2017, Princess Mabel attended the presentation of the Prince Claus Award, as usual. This time she wore a black dress with a colorful print from Dodo Bar Or.
