Máxima regularly appears on the red carpet with a new glow. She owes this not only to her own shopping behavior, but also to the many gifts she receives during her work. Yesterday she received no fewer than 15 brooches as a gift from the Colombian First Lady.
The Queen is in Colombia because of her UN work on financial inclusion. In addition to various field visits and meetings, a visit with the President and the First Lady was also on the program. As you can see in the photo below, there was a table full of gifts waiting for her.

In addition to some Colombian pottery, there were also no fewer than 15 brooches on the gift table. Colombian filigree, in the shape of flowers, birds and butterflies.

I see a nice gesture in Máxima’s choice of an emerald green suit and diro jewelry. Colombia is the country of the most beautiful emeralds. The green gemstones in Máxima’s ears actually come from Colombia. I assume the president appreciated the choice.
Pendant
And speaking of gifts…. During a ship’s christening in 2003, Máxima received a Zeeland pendant as a gift. The gold jewel was originally an earring, then a pendant for the caps that belonged to Zeeland traditional costume and, especially for Máxima, it was subsequently attached to a necklace. More than twenty years later, the pendant is still unused in the safe.
