Máxima is a great supporter of an inclusive society. That was confirmed once again today.
Queen Máxima attended the IDAHOT+ Forum in The Hague at the end of the afternoon. This year, the Netherlands, in collaboration with the Council of Europe, is the host country of the IDAHOT+ Forum. The conference is about international developments in the field of LGBTQ+ emancipation and policy and it is one of the activities surrounding IDAHOT, the International Day against Homophobia and Transphobia. Queen Máxima attended part of the plenary program and gave a short speech in which she said the following:
“It is a day of unity in all its diversity. It is a day to say to each other; You are good as you are. You are just fine the way you are! Ultimately, we all want to be accepted, among family and friends, at work, at school, in the café, at the sports club, on the street, on social media. My message for all young people is: give yourself space. The search for who you are can take some time. And there’s nothing wrong with that. There are no straight lines in life. Take as long as you like. Trust yourself and talk about your feelings. You are not alone!”
Fashion
On occasions that revolve around this subject, the queen often chooses appropriate fashion. Her bright pink Gucci suit has already been seen before, as have her rainbow earrings. This afternoon the queen chose a different shade of pink, salmon pink. The top with cape sleeves, just like the trousers, comes from fashion house Natan.
