King Philippe and Queen Mathilde paid a state visit to Germany from Tuesday, December 5 to Thursday, December 7, 2023. Today we look at the elegant outfits that Queen Mathilde wore during the state visit.
Upon departure from Melsbroek airport, we saw Queen Mathilde in a dark blue ensemble, with a coat designed by Esmeralda Ammoun. She also wore this ensemble upon arrival. Considering the short distance covered, it is not surprising that she wore the same outfit.
However, Queen Mathilde changes clothes for the official welcome ceremony. We see her in an emerald green deux pieces by Natan. Her new matching hat is a design by Fabienne Delvigne.
State banquet
In the evening – as is customary during a state visit – the state banquet is held. The Belgian queen wears her burgundy velvet gown, a design by Armani Privé. The off-shoulder dress has a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves. With the dress she wears the diadem of the 9 Provinces and a new necklace, which we already saw this week in this blog by Josine.
Day 2
The second day of the state visit focuses on a number of themes, including space travel and energy. Mathilde wears a shorter version of this dress from fashion house Natan.
Counter performance
During the counter performance, during which a concert is given, we see Queen Mathilde dazzling in a beautiful red gown by Natan Couture. The dress is all glitter and glamour, and the asymmetrical neckline suits Mathilde very well in my opinion.
Closing day
During the last day of the state visit, Queen Mathilde wears a beautiful ensemble, which was specially designed for her by Christian Dior Haute Couture. Over the red chiffon dress, Mathilde wears a perfectly matching silk wool coat. She also wore this ensemble during the state visit to France in 2018 (as well as the dress she wore during the state banquet).
