‘I am a strong person myself, so there needs to be someone next to me who can handle that.’
Isa Hoes turned 56 last summer and is feeling better than ever. A serious diagnosis served as a wake-up call. She then changed her lifestyle, followed a fitness program for six weeks, dares to stand up for herself more and she also knows better what she wants when it comes to men. Meeting a second love is something that Isa secretly longs for after all these single years, so she has enlisted the help of a dating agency. Glamial is of course very curious about how things are going so far.

“I was a pleaser for a long time and thought it was important to be liked,” Isa shares. “If things don’t work, I dare to end something earlier. I don’t have a ring on my finger and no children with that person, so I can react much more autonomously. I used to think that was selfish. Now I think: what’s selfish about that? It is my life,” she explains. “I want to live to be 92, but will that happen? You don’t know that, so I want to get the most out of life and focus on what feels good to me.”
Relation
Since the death of the late Antonie Kamerling, Isa has not had any serious relationships, but she is open to them. “When I see it like this, I can see myself with a man again. It seems like so much fun. In recent years I have tried and been on dating apps. I hated that.”
“Men would say, ‘Is that really you?’ I always try to avoid being known as much as possible, but of course I am. How do you respond to that? Not in my case. Online dating is super complicated.”
To date
In addition, it is not as if Isa is throwing in the towel. No! She reveals: “I trust what will happen, so I also have that feeling with a man. And if it isn’t, then it isn’t. I have super sweet friends and children, which of course do not replace a relationship, but I do have plenty of time to do fun things.”
Over the years she has had a few dates, but a serious relationship never materialized. And that is why the actress and writer has now turned to a dating agency for help. For example, after an extensive conversation with an advisor from the agency, a profile of Isa was created and a good match is now being looked for.
“What’s in my profile? For me it is important that someone is strong in all kinds of areas. I am a strong person myself, so there needs to be someone next to me who can handle that. They also have to be able to handle my fame, but not find it too interesting. Furthermore, he must be well off financially. I am very clear about that now, because I have no desire to support a man at all. I don’t find that attractive either. Furthermore, there must of course be chemistry, something you cannot describe. Unfortunately, nothing has come of it yet.”
Second love
Of course, Isa maintained for a long time that Antonie was the love of her life, but she now explains that she believes in a second great love. “For years I said that I had already had my great love and this might be it. When you are alone for a long time, you think that things might not work out anymore. I don’t have that idea anymore. I can at 80e meeting someone else with whom I can have a great time. I now know that anything is possible. I really believe in that.”
