“I saw her desire to change herself and transform her life.”
The life of Crown Princess Mary of Denmark can be called a real-life fairytale. Her transformation from average Australian girl to future Queen of Denmark is absolutely on par with the average fairy tale! But while Cinderella magically turned into a princess, Mary needed a little more work.
The meeting
Crown Princess Mary met her Frederik in the year 2000, during the Olympic Games in Sydney. They both happened to be in the same bar, where Frederik was introduced to Mary as ‘Freddy’. The two fell in love, and what started as a secret long-distance relationship eventually culminated in a royal wedding in 2004.
‘Starmakers’ training
Now, almost 25 years and 4 children later, the royal couple is about to be crowned King and Queen of Denmark. But Mary may have to thank ‘princess whisperer’ Teresa Page, with whom she followed a real Starmakers training, that it was able to get to this point.
Less than six weeks after she met Frederik, Mary turned to the life coach. She now tells all about the royal transformation that Mary has gone through with her help, in an interview with Sunrise.
Star quality
Mary was coached by Teresa for eight weeks to prepare her for life in the public eye. Teresa helped Mary refine her behavior so that she would better fit into royal life. A lot of work was also done on her ‘star quality’.
This royal crash course came at a price: Mary invested $1,195 in the program, where she learned how to walk, talk and smile. She participated in acting sessions and improvisation activities, and was taught how to appear accessible. In retrospect, we can say that the money was more than worth it, right?
According to Teresa, Mary is her “most successful student ever.” “I saw her interest in the course material, her love of learning and her desire to change herself and transform her life,” she says.
Help from Frederik
Not only did the life coach help Mary on her road to royalty, Frederik himself also taught her a few things. He helped her learn the royal nod before introducing her to his mother, Queen Margrethe II. This nod is a habit that Mary will soon be allowed to let go: as soon as she becomes queen, it will no longer be necessary to bend the knee for other royals.
