She tries to stay positive. Christmas is just around the corner in just a few days. For Simone Ballack (47) it is the third festival that she has to spend without her beloved son Emilio (✝18) – he died in 2021 after a tragic accident. Michael Ballack’s ex (47) is still bothered by the great loss to this day. That’s why sees Simone the upcoming holidays have mixed feelings.
In an interview with Bunte, the 47-year-old takes a deep look into her emotional world and reveals that the festival of love is a rollercoaster of emotions for her. “Of course it’s not as happy as it used to be,” admits the mother of three and adds: “You still enjoy the day. You try to make it nice for the other two children too.” Over the years it will be for Simone easier to get used to the situation. Nevertheless, she would like to see more “looseness” come into play again in the future.
Her new partner Heiko Grote is a great support to her during this difficult time. “He was the good thing about the year, the last two years weren’t that special,” emphasized Simone a few days ago compared to Bild. He makes it easier for her to process the deep sadness surrounding Emilio’s death: “He supports me and doesn’t drag me down.”
