The family drama continues to escalate. The relationship between Cher (77) and her son Elijah Blue Allman (47) is currently quite strained. In October, the singer is said to have hired men to admit him to a rehabilitation clinic because of his alleged drug problems. Most recently, she even took legal action to take over guardianship of him. Now react too Elijah.
According to legal documents obtained by Radar Online, the 47-year-old is rejecting his mother’s requested guardianship. “There is no reason for the appointment of a guardian, the proposed guardian is not entitled to priority,” the documents explain. It also states: “There is simply no emergency that requires guardianship.”
He also told CNN that he had been “clean and sober from illegal substances” for more than 90 days. “Like many people, I have struggled with addiction and spent my money in ways that were not always particularly responsible,” admitted Elijah to. He is now receiving medical treatment: “I am now under the care of Dr. Howard Samuels and am taking part in Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.”
