Do you suffer from poor posture? This is how you fix it

Do you sit behind your computer every day for work? Then there is a good chance that this will have a negative effect on your posture. Having a bad posture is not always attractive and is also not good for your back. This is how you can fix your posture.

Move!

Enough exercise is important for all of us. This can be a very good thing to do, especially if you suffer from poor posture. Strengthening your muscles makes it easier to maintain a good posture. Sports that are very useful when you want to tackle this problem are pilates and yoga.

Wear the right shoes

Flat shoes are the best shoes for good posture. Heels ensure that your weight is not evenly distributed over your foot. This quickly causes you to find yourself in strange positions to better distribute the weight. We understand that you can’t always leave your heels alone, but if possible, we definitely recommend wearing flat shoes.

Lie down on the floor every day

This may sound strange, but lying on the floor for a while is very good for your posture. Lie flat on your back for two to three minutes. Do not use support such as pillows. Try to relax your body. Your body will automatically adopt a natural position that contributes to improving your posture.

Do stretching exercises

Especially if you sit all day, stretching is very nice. Because you sit in the same position for a long time, your muscles stiffen and become stuck. To prevent this, stretching is a nice solution. Do this for ten minutes a day for the best results. Between work, take a walk every now and then and relax your shoulders.

Correct yourself

Do you realize that you are slumping? Then correct yourself immediately. Look in the mirror at what your correct posture should look like. Roll your shoulders back and down into a relaxed position. Stand up straight and tighten your abdominal muscles slightly. Make it a mission to keep an eye on your posture and pat yourself down when necessary. This is how you build a good habit.

Lift from your legs, not your back

One of the worst things you can do for your posture is lifting from your back. This will cause your back to bend quite a bit, which is certainly not the intention. Therefore, lift from your legs and let them do the heavy work.
