Do you have a dust mite allergy? Then clean these things in the house extra well

A stuffy nose, sneezing fits and itching in the eyes. Being allergic to dust mites is no laughing matter. It is therefore very important to clean your house so that you can alleviate the allergy. Fortunately, we have a step-by-step plan for you. Follow this and notice a difference!

Clean these things in your home extra well if you suffer from dust mites

1. Clean up

The first step is to clean your house. Maybe not your most favorite activity, but it has to be done at some point. The less stuff there is lying around, the less dust can be trapped. So don’t start cleaning right away, but put everything away neatly first. Get rid of that rubbish!

2. Dusting

Once you have everything neatly put away, you can start dusting your cupboards and racks with a wet microfiber cloth. Work from top to bottom to ensure that the dust reaches the ground. Don’t forget your pots, decorations and frames, because they collect a lot of dust. We don’t want this.

3. Vacuuming

We continue with the vacuuming. Try to do this at least twice a week. If you really suffer from dust mites, you can vacuum every day. Did you know that it takes an average of half an hour for swirling dust to fall? So wait a while after dusting before vacuuming. Make sure you take your time vacuuming. Reach the hard-to-reach places, such as under the sofa and the cupboard and television. There’s more dust there than you think. After vacuuming, it’s time to mop.

4. Wash bed linen

This is a very important step. You must wash your bed at least once a week at 60 degrees. Research has shown that the creatures do not survive at such a temperature. Are your children allergic to dust mites? Wash the cuddly toys every week at 60 degrees. If they cannot go in the machine, you should place them in a plastic bag in the freezer overnight. Don’t forget to wash your pillow regularly. Allergen-proof covers for your mattress and pillows stop dust mites, but allow air and moisture to pass through. Also wash it at least twice a year at 60 degrees.

5. Remove dust from curtains and grilles

Not a weekly task, but should also be done occasionally. Washing your curtains and cleaning your blinds and your grilles and filters. This is full of dust, so you have to give it a cleaning every now and then. For example, clean all your ventilation grilles every three months. Also that of your air conditioning and the grille of the extractor hood.
