He pays him his last respects! A few days ago, the German football legend Franz Beckenbauer (✝78) died. The death of the exceptional footballer not only affects his relatives and fans, but also many well-known personalities. Next week, a ceremony will be held for the former national coach at the Allianz Arena in Munich – and a special guest will be there: Chancellor Olaf Scholz (65) will attend the funeral service Franz!
This is announced by deputy government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann. Scholz wanted to “show his great respect and recognition for an outstanding athlete in our country,” she explains and adds: “With Franz Beckenbauer Our country is losing a great footballer, athlete and human being.” The funeral service will be broadcast live on German television on January 19th.
On the occasion of his death, some sports stars also shared touching words of farewell. “One of the greatest footballers in the history of FC Bayern has unfortunately left us. Rest in peace, Kaiser Franz. We will never forget what you have done for football in Germany,” mourned footballer Thomas Müller (34) on X.
