Shortly after the news about Princess Kate’s abdominal surgery, Charles now appears to have to undergo surgery as well. The king will be treated next week for an enlarged prostate, the British court reported.

“Like thousands of men every year, the King has sought treatment for an enlarged prostate,” read the message from Buckingham Palace. “His Majesty’s condition is benign and he will attend hospital for treatment next week.”
A palace source told ABC News that Charles wanted to consciously share his diagnosis to raise awareness about the condition. According to the British National Health Service (NHS) website, an enlarged prostate is common in men over the age of 50. It is not cancer and does not pose a serious threat to health.
The King’s agenda included a series of meetings and events at Dumfries House on Thursday and Friday. These are now postponed, on the advice of his doctor.
Abdominal surgery Kate
The timing of this operation is striking, as the news about Kate’s operation was also announced yesterday. Kensington Palace revealed in a statement that the Princess of Wales has undergone successful abdominal surgery and will continue to recover in hospital for the foreseeable future.
“Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales was admitted to the London Clinic yesterday for a planned abdominal operation. The operation was successful and she is expected to remain in hospital for ten to fourteen days,” Kensington Palace said. “The Princess of Wales appreciates the interest this statement will generate. She hopes the public will understand her desire to maintain as much normalcy as possible for her children.”
Because Kate wishes her personal medical information to remain private, Kensington Palace will only provide updates on her recovery when there is important and new information.
