It promises to be a special series.
Last Friday, AVROTROS dropped a small bomb, but a very nice one: namely that from March 17 a new series will be shown about our favorite subject, called Koningshuis the Musical. It has now also been announced what the cast looks like.

It seems like royal viewing is starting to become a bigger trend. Dozens of announcements of new documentaries, films and series about a royal love story, controversial prince or beloved royal have already been made in recent months. And of course you won’t hear us complain about that. Something about glamour, etiquette and royal drama? We’re here for it.
Royal House the Musical
We couldn’t believe our luck when AVROTROS announced the arrival of Koningshuis the Musical last week. We were still in the dark about the details last weekend, but more is now known. Perhaps the best news is that our patience will not be tested so much this time: the series can be seen from March 17.

On the AVROTROS website you can read approximately what we can expect from the series. And the fork turns out to be a little different in the handle than we expected. “Royal House the Musical takes place behind the scenes of a musical production about the Royal House,” it is written. “For example, the casting of the black actress Naomi Zwaan as Queen Máxima is discussed. Dominique Elschot, the ambitious director, cast this musical colour-blind, but that is not all: there is more, much more going on. The world behind the scenes turns out to be a lot less rosy and glamorous than on stage.”
“When the big day of the hundredth performance of Koningshuis the Musical arrives, the mood changes completely when Studio Avenue makes a very shocking revelation. Will the cast still be able to focus on the important performance after this news or will everything go completely wrong? One thing is certain: the show must go on…”
Cast
The most important roles in the series are played by Valentijn Benard, Sarah Janneh, Noortje Herlaar, Robbert van den Bergh, Daniel Cornelissen and Henk Poort.
Royal storylines combined with humor? That sounds like music to our ears…
