She grew from an ‘ordinary’ Australian citizen girl to princess, and now even queen of Denmark: Mary has embraced her new title and seems determined to wear it with gusto. During her first appearance as queen, she appears in a beautiful outfit.
Transformation
It will happen to you: you lead an ordinary life, until you fall madly in love with a prince in your twenties. Before you know it, you are surrounded by palace walls and starting a career as a Danish royal. It happened to Mary, who quickly transformed from girl next door to Crown Princess of Denmark. Last week she even exchanged that title, and since then she has gone through life as queen.
Sustainable look
It seems quite a bit to process, such a sudden appointment as queen of a country. Yet Mary seems to remain very down-to-earth about it. As if nothing had happened, she appeared extremely cheerful yesterday at one of the first public outings since the change of throne. And the queen did so, as we have come to expect from her, in a breathtaking outfit. Freshly shopped? No. Mary went for items that she has already worn before. A queen with sustainable habits: we can get used to that.
The new queen wore a purple dress from Soeren Le Schmidt during the church service, which she completed with navy-colored Jimmy Choo pumps and a lot of other accessories in purple shades.

…and even fellow queen Margrethe was fashion-wise unanimous. Like her successor, she appeared in a purple dress (swipe to fourth photo). In the fifth photo we spotted that her sister, Princess Benedkeek, also adhered to the dress code.
All in all, it seems that Mary has her new role completely under control. A flying start as Queen of Denmark!
