What is a webcam model?
A webcam model, or cam worker, is a sex worker who performs or shows sexual acts via the webcam. Some cam workers have a studio or separate camera in which they stream everything. Many cam workers work via a website, which employs several cam workers. In this case, the customer can simply log in to the relevant website and chat with a cam worker for a fee. The webcam is connected to a chat box. The cam worker performs actions that are requested via the chat box, but only if he or she feels comfortable. The exact salary of a cam worker is unknown, because every model and every website charges a different rate. It also depends on the number of visitors, private sessions and digital tips. On international websites, visitors can enter a chat room for free, and the cam workers earn through tips and private shows. On the Dutch platform IsLive you pay to enter a chat room. The model then earns 18 cents per visitor per minute. So it really depends on the number of visitors and how long they keep looking at you. Models can earn around $50,000 to $100,000 per year through international platforms. The most successful models on these international websites even make close to $50,000 per month!
How do you become a webcam model?
You don’t need much to become a cam worker: basically just a laptop with a good internet connection. With a good and fast internet connection, your image will not stutter, so customers can see you better and they will not leave quickly. It is therefore always wise to use an internet cable instead of WiFi. Furthermore, it is best to register yourself on webcam platforms, unless you already have a large number of followers on another social media platform.
