Queen Margrethe (83) recently announced her resignation. After the death of Queen Elizabeth II (✝96), the regent was the longest-reigning monarch in Europe. The Dane has been on the throne for around 52 years. From January 14th, her son Prince Frederik (55) will be the new regent. Now Queen Margrethe is sharing a funny video of her reign!
“Special moments from Her Majesty the Queen’s reign,” the Danish royal family commented on the video post on the noble family’s official Instagram account. The clip contains compilations from previous years: Margrethe dancing at balls, together with Angela Merkel (69) or taking a walk with Pope John Paul II. The video is accompanied by the song “Girls Just Want To Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper (70).
The royal fans are enthusiastic about the video. “We can only be proud that she was our queen,” writes one touched user. “Great video! A lady with class,” commented another. “The coolest queen in the world! Thank you for everything,” another follower also said delightedly.
