Will 2024 be her year? In 2020, Prince Harry (39) and his wife Duchess Meghan (42) resigned from their royal duties. The couple then tried to make it clear in interviews, books and documentaries how much they suffered from life in the British royal family. Instead of being understanding, however, most of the public reacted with irritation. The relationship with the royal family also suffered even more. But now Harry and Meghan seem to want to change a lot!
At least that’s what author Phil Dampier believes. As he emphasized in an interview with The Sun, the Sussexes know “that they have lost the image war with William (41) and Kate (42)”. It is now all the more important for the 39-year-old and his wife to prove to the public how well they are doing outside of the British royal family. “They will want to fight back and show that they can do good work, but also that they can enjoy themselves and have fun,” explains Phil.
Harry’s brother and his wife shouldn’t be impressed by this. “William and Kate will just carry on and they have royal tours coming up, including a visit to Italy in the spring,” said Phil. Can Harry and Meghan keep up? The journalist doesn’t believe it: “[Sie] will therefore seek to find other methods to convey their messages and improve their public image, both in the UK and the US.”
