She dares to do something new. Judith Rakers (48) is probably one of the most famous faces on German TV. As a presenter, she has regularly welcomed viewers to the Tagesschau at 8 p.m. since 2008. However, she recently surprised with sad news. After almost 20 years, the Paderborn native is leaving the news program. Although she is looking forward to the new chapter in her life with joy, saying goodbye was visibly difficult for her: Judith even had to fight back tears.
As usual, the “ARD morning magazine” switches to “Tagesschau” – the 48-year-old’s last appearance. “I really thought about it for a long time,” she then reports to her colleagues before they look back together at her first appearance in 2006. As this Judith then let them know how much they will miss the presenter, she seems visibly moved – even has to hold back tears. “I was a baby, right? It’s been 19 years: crazy,” she sums up the whole thing.
Despite her farewell to the “Tagesschau”, not everything in her life will change Judith change. In a statement on her Instagram account, she recently let her fans know: “I will continue to moderate the talk show ‘3nach9’ […]more reports are also planned and I’m thinking about new television formats.”
