Ah! This causes fine lines on your face

Everything for a radiant and firm skin!

Fine lines are a sign of aging, despite the fact that we liberally apply creams and serums to our face. Good skin care is always desirable, but our skin is vulnerable. Fortunately, there are several things you can do – and especially not should do – to slow down the skin aging process.

1. You don’t apply SPF

The sun has a lot of influence on your skin. As many as 80 percent of the signs of skin aging are caused by harmful UV rays. Fortunately, there is something you can do about this: use sunscreen. If you do not do this, you are more likely to develop sagging skin, pigment spots and premature wrinkle formation. Even bigger problems can also arise, such as skin cancer. So lubricate, lubricate, lubricate! And we’re talking about every day, not just in the summer. UV rays are always present.

2. You don’t cleanse your face

Cleaning your face is one of the most important things. Make-up and (air) pollution can clog your pores, causing small inflammations in your face. It is therefore important to cleanse your face every evening. This keeps your skin young and fresh and care products are better absorbed.

3. You tighten your eyelids

Do you wear a line of eye pencil or eyeliner every day? Then there is a good chance that you have the habit of pulling your eyelid tight so that you can draw a straight line. Yet it is better to unlearn this. Pulling this delicate skin can cause wrinkles more quickly in the long term. Instead, choose an eyeliner that draws on easily and simply relax your eyelid. Practice makes perfect!

4. You raise your eyebrows often

We are still stuck in the habits surrounding applying make-up. When you apply mascara, there’s a good chance you’ll raise your eyebrows. Don’t do this, because frowning is more likely to cause wrinkles on your forehead. Instead, tilt your head back and apply the mascara without frowning.

5. You smoke and drink alcohol

It won’t surprise you that smoking is bad for your skin. Nicotine constricts blood vessels and breaks down collagen and elastin at a rapid pace. This is at the expense of the firmness and suppleness of your skin. And then we have the well-known ‘smoker’s line’ around the mouth. No, smoking has no benefits. Alcohol is just as bad for your skin. This disrupts the moisture balance, causing the elasticity of your skin to deteriorate. The result? Dull skin with fine lines and wrinkles. To prevent wrinkles, we repeat it again: drink in moderation.

6. You eat a lot of sugar

To enjoy firm skin for as long as possible, it is wise to avoid sugar as much as possible. This can cause adhesions to form, making your skin less elastic and accentuating wrinkles. Instead of sugar, it is better to eat fresh vegetables and fruit so that you get antioxidants and vitamins. These actually boost your skin.

7. You don’t sleep enough

We all know that a good night’s sleep is important, also for beautiful skin. An American study shows that people who sleep poorly or too little for a long time are more likely to experience accelerated skin aging. So make sure you get enough sleep. The skin then also recovers from sun damage or skin irritation. Win win!
