First game lost after giving birth: Is Naomi Osaka sad?

How is Naomi Osaka (26) doing after her little sports comeback? The professional tennis player and her partner Cordae became parents to a daughter in July last year. After giving birth, the athlete announced that she wanted to return to the field soon. On Wednesday the time had come: she played in the Brisbane International tournament. Even if Naomi Already eliminated in the second round, she doesn’t feel any sadness.

“The week is definitely shorter than I would have liked,” the 26-year-old told the Associated Press after the match. Nevertheless, she takes something positive out of the defeat: “I feel like I’m doing pretty well where I am. Compared to the last time I played against them, I actually played better today.”

For Naomi It was the first competition since September 2022. At that time she announced her pregnancy and explained that she wanted to take a short break from professional tennis. However, in the past few weeks and months she has been diligently preparing for her return. “I have trained so hard since birth. I have to enjoy these moments,” emphasized the mother of little Shai.
