He was more to him than just a sports colleague. Michael Schumacher’s (55) skiing accident happened ten years ago: the Formula 1 star had a serious accident on the slopes in the French Alps. Little is known about his condition. Many of his companions paid tribute to the father of two, including this four-time world champion: Sebastian Vettel (36) remembers his last conversation with Schumi.
The 36-year-old revealed to RTL how close the two were before the accident. “The first thoughts were of course during the last conversation we had together. I told him that I was going to be a father and what was coming for us,” explained Sebastian. Michael I always supported him. For Sebastian It’s still a big loss today: “I just miss my friend. He would have been so important in the last few years. I would have had so many questions and he would certainly have been able to give so many answers or inspiration.”
The 55-year-old’s family in particular is doing their best to cope with this severe blow of fate. In the Netflix documentary “Schumacher”. Michaels Son Mick (24) gives intimate insights into his emotional state: “Of course, after the accident, the experiences and moments that many people experience with their parents are not there or are less there.” Mick thinks this is “a bit unfair”.
