The Christmas decorations are up!
Queen Camilla celebrated the festive season last week when she welcomed a number of special guests to Clarence House. An annual tradition that is accompanied by a lot of warmth and entertainment.
Festive Christmas reception
Christmas is approaching and this was celebrated last Wednesday with a festive foretaste in the Clarence house. Queen Camilla has held her annual Christmas reception for seriously ill children at her London residence. Together with Santa Claus, the Queen received the children at Clarence House. As usual, the children helped the Queen decorate the tree and were treated to a meal and royal sweets. After dinner, the group went outside to pet Santa’s reindeer.

The queen already looked beautifully Christmassy. She looked festive in a green velvet dress from ME+EM. A color that matches wonderfully with the tree and looks particularly good on her!
Merry christmas
In addition to the usual Christmas traditions, there are also some changes for the Queen this year. Although Camilla has been a member of the royal family for quite some time now, she has not always had a say when it comes to the holidays in recent years. During Christmas, her family was not welcome within the palace walls, so Camilla’s children and grandchildren were missing from the guest list every year. But fortunately for the Queen, that will change this year!
Guest list overhauled
Part of the Christmas tradition for British royals is always to walk together to St. Mary Magdalene Church for a service on Christmas Day. Lunch will then be ready for them at Sandringham House. This tradition has been going on for decades now, and was always organized by the late Queen Elizabeth. This year, however, things look very different: Camilla seems to have passed on the baton from her mother-in-law. And she reportedly immediately takes advantage of that fact to overhaul the guest list.
“The guest list for the festive lunch at Sandringham House is undergoing a radical change and will include many members of Queen Camilla’s family,” a source previously told The New York Post. Quite a few guests have been added to the list: her children Tom Parker Bowles and Laura Lopes are on it for the first time, and grandchildren Lola, Eliza, Freddy, Louis and Gus are also welcome at the lunch.
So it can’t happen this year for Camilla, with all those kids over. But whether she is decorating the tree with sick children for a higher purpose, or sitting at the Christmas table with her own flesh and blood; the younger generation makes the queen shine from ear to ear!
