Season 2 series Máxima
The first season of the series became a hot topic when it came out. Regular viewers became fans and of course we just had to wait for the announcement of the new season. Well, it’s coming. Yay! The upcoming season is packed with new tensions, with the focus mainly on the relationship between Máxima and her growing role within the royal family. She discovers that keeping the love of the Dutch people is a lot more challenging than conquering it.
New cast members
Not only is there a whole new series in the making, the current actors are assisted on set by a number of new cast members. At least four new members will be introduced to the public. For example, Abbey Hoes steps into the role of Laurentien and Claire Bender can play Mabel. Then it’s time for Willem-Alexander’s brothers! We will meet Constantijn, played by Steef de Bot, and Friso, played by Bram Suijker, will also be seen. We can’t wait!
Special series
The special thing about the Máxima series is that the leading role is played by an Argentinian actress. Delfina Chaves was given the honor of playing Máxima. You might know her from Ringo (on Star+), Rap Battlefield (on HBO Max) or Edha (on Netflix). Next to her we then see the Dutch Martijn Lakemeijer as Willem-Alexander, whom you can know from the films Krijgswinter and Lover of Loser and series such as Hollands Hoop and the BBCTwo series Marie Antoinette. It gets even better, because in real life the two have become a real couple. Cute!
Reactions from abroad
The fact that the Argentinian Delfina plays in the series also causes a lot of reactions from abroad. It’s not just Videoland’s Instagram that people are responding to the series and the actress. Even after the announcement, there was also interest in the series from other countries. Producer Millstreet Film has now been in discussions with Spain, Latin America, Germany and Scandinavia, among others. Wow!
Release date
We are of course very happy that the second season is coming, but as you may already understand, no release date has been announced yet. We do know that the new series will not be shown until 2026.
