During regional visits, Máxima presents herself as a real queen

Today they can still work from home in their old clothes at Paleis Noordeinde, but tomorrow the new working season really starts with a regional visit to Walcheren. To get in the mood, we look back at Máxima’s looks from previous regional visits.

During substantive working visits, it cannot escape anyone’s notice that the focus is on the content, not on the form. The number of times that a flower girl is standing by the carpet can be counted on one hand. The same applies to hats, suits and coiffed hairstyles. Although regional visits are also primarily about the content, Máxima fortunately appears on the red carpet in full regalia.

The first regional visit (in 2014) brings the royal couple to the Achterhoek. Máxima’s soft pink blouse and white skirt are from Natan, the mix of a turban and pillbox is a design by Fabienne Delvigne. Also note the shoes: sand-colored LK Bennets are high fashion at that time thanks to Kate Middleton.

After the soft colour palette of regional visit 1, Máxima is ready for some colour during the subsequent regional visit to the Kop van Noord-Holland. Her dress turns out to be a design by a sick girl, who had submitted a wish via Make a Wish to be allowed to design a dress for the queen. Fashion house Natan, where Máxima shops a lot, facilitated the process. The red hat is designed by Fabienne Delvigne and made its debut ten years earlier. In 2004. Because the burgundy pumps are provided with plexiglass, they beautifully lengthen Máxima’s already long legs.

The first regional visit of 2015 brings the royal couple to the peat colonies. Máxima wears a previously worn dress by Natan, which she combines with her favorite winter hat: a gray relevé by Fabienne Delvigne. The pumps with block heels offer a lot of comfort by royal standards.

Regional visit Zeeuws-Vlaanderen May 19, 2015 – The Queen wears a yellow skirt and a soft pink top. Although you can hardly see it through the shawl, the top is decorated with hand-painted flowers. Label: Natan.

For the regional visit to the mining region, Máxima buys a grey dress by Dolce & Gabbana. The hairpiece comes from Argentina, or rather: from the studio of Laura Noetinger. The Louboutins (with red sole) are used very regularly in 2015.

During the regional visit to West-Brabant (2016), Máxima’s favorite winter hat reappears. This time she combines it with a classic A-line dress by Natan. The shoes have a low heel for royal standards.

Regional visit Noardwest Fryslân 13 June 2016 – No orange above, but orange below. Máxima’s fitted dress and lace vest come from the studio of NATAN.

During the regional visit to Almelo and Noordoost Twente, Máxima wears a wool dress with shoulder yoke. The mohair coat slides off her shoulder several times. Shoulder robes are not very practical, but the view through the arms makes the whole thing a bit more airy. Cognac is the accent color this time.

During the regional visit to the Krimpenerwaard (February 2017), Máxima appears in bright pink. This time, too, cognac is the accent color.

For the regional visit to Northeast Flevoland, Máxima brings out her outfit from King’s Day 2015. This time she combines it with the bright pink cap hat from Queen’s Day 2008. He who saves something, has something.

For the regional visit to Eemland, the choice falls on a dress of jacquard and cut yarns, combined with a burgundy coat of shiny silk. Again a set by Natan. The relevé… you guessed it… is designed by Delvigne.

During the regional visit to West Friesland it is sunny. Máxima wears a sleeveless dress by Natan. Because the top layer of the creation is transparent and the lining is significantly shorter, we get a glimpse of her legs. The wide-brimmed hat is a design by Delvigne and debuted in 2003. Fifteen years old.

For the regional visit to Schouwen-Duiveland and Tholen, Máxima orders Dutch Design. Her blouse and skirt with leather flowers come from the studio of Claes Iversen. The bright red turban completes the picture.

During the regional visit to the Betuwe, Máxima wears a pencil skirt made of raffia. The sustainable garment is combined with a white blouse and burgundy accessories.

Regional visit Southwest Drenthe September 18, 2019 – For the first time, Máxima does not wear a dress or skirt during a regional visit, but culottes. Just like the blouse and the jacket, the garment comes from Natan.

For the regional visit to South-East Friesland, Máxima buys an orange midi dress with graceful drapery at fashion house Natan. As for headgear, she chooses her favorite summer hat: a relevé of straw, made by Fabienne Delvigne.

For the regional visit to North Limburg, Máxima buys a green dress by Oscar de la Renta. The garment is largely covered by a multi-coloured coat by the same brand. The pillbox is a design by Jolanda, Máxima’s maid.

For the regional visit to Salland (September 2021), Máxima buys a pleated dress in her favorite color: green. A wide belt in the same fabric should prevent the slim waist from disappearing in a cloud of fabric.

If you are visiting the dune and bulb region, a dress with flowers is very appropriate. Máxima buys a dark blue copy by Oscar de la Renta. The pillbox debuted in 2013 and is a design by the South African designer Bettina Thomas.

Máxima as a sweet flower girl? Brabant will see it during the twentieth regional visit of the royal couple. The outfit comes from the studio of Natan, the hair decoration was bought from Berry Rutjes.

The regional visit to the Wadden Islands yields two outfits with hats. The first is an old pink trouser suit by Claes Iversen, which is combined with an embroidered hair decoration by Fabienne Delvigne. Unfortunately for the queen (and the writer of this article, who walked with the procession that day) it rained from early in the morning until late at night. A trench coat by Burberry was added to the pink picture out of necessity.

Outfit two for the Wadden Islands: a bright yellow trouser suit from Zara, combined with a hair decoration from Laura Noetinger.

And already the last outfit of the overview: during the regional visit to the Gelderse Vallei, Máxima will wear the bright green outfit of King’s Day 2023.

During the regional visit to the Hogeland, a well-known dress by Elie Saab and a hat by Jolanda, Máxima’s maid, were chosen.

24 different outfits. Tomorrow number 25 will follow. What are you hoping for?
