The current season of Expedition Robinson has been underway for quite some time now. The candidates have now been on the tropical island for a month with little food and no socials. The semi-finals are just around the corner! It is of course still unknown who will make it to the semi-finals. Although viewers on social media know it (almost) for sure: these two candidates will certainly survive the last island council.
Emotional support in Expedition Robinson
Now that the finish line of Expedition Robinson 2023 is almost in sight, the candidates could use some emotional support. The makers know this all too well. That is why the winner of the immunity test will receive a very special prize this time. It is time for video messages from home. Aww! The group of candidates has now become a lot smaller, thanks to the two exits in the previous episode. As a result, everyone seems to be trying even harder for immunity. In episode 14, the somewhat inconspicuous Willem, Guido and Floris take the lead, leaving the sporty Jochen and Ilse and fanatical Mark behind. Wow! After a close battle, it is ultimately Willem who walks away with the win and the video message. Although he turns out to be a very generous person.
Instead of accepting the big squid, he also gives his fellow candidates on merger island the opportunity to receive video messages. Viewers on social media channel X appreciate Willem’s action and some even call him the ‘real Robinson’.

Semi-finals in sight
Thanks to the video messages from home, everyone can continue with a little more energy. And they do need the new energy, because the semi-finals of Expedition Robinson are in sight! After the departure of Iris and Radmilo, two camps emerged, as presenter Art Rooijakkers nicely puts it. On the one hand you have Willem’s team with Ilse and Jochen and on the other hand you have captain Mark, Floris and Guido. Both groups are nicely balanced. For example, both Willem and Mark have an immunity coin and Ilse competed against Mark for voting rights.
In the end it was Mark who lost his right to vote. As a result, he was unable to defend himself during the island council and that almost killed him. He received the most votes, but fortunately for him he did not have to leave yet. However, he now has a black vote during the next – and probably last – island council. Although there is a very good chance that he will simply survive this island council.
Which candidates in semi-finals?
In any case, the viewers on social media know it (almost) for sure. Mark and Willem are probably the only candidates who are guaranteed a place in the semi-finals:

Immunity coin
The immunity coin is indeed a strong weapon. Although it has not yet been established that they will actually survive the island council. There’s definitely a catch. Mark has now hidden his coin. What if he doesn’t find it? The immunity coin is also transferable. It could therefore be that immunity goes to another candidate. Although Mark and Willem are probably still a bit stronger in the game. Exciting!
