Since Joe Biden announced his withdrawal from the US presidential election, all eyes have of course been on Vice President Kamala Harris. This ambitious power woman knows how to radiate confidence and strength not only in politics, but also in her outfits. We list our favorite looks of Kamala Harris.

Now that Kamala Harris has been put forward by Biden as the new presidential candidate, we are of course even more interested in who this woman actually is. As vice president, Harris already managed to push boundaries in American politics. She is the first woman and woman of color to hold this position, and as the daughter of two immigrants, she had to work extra hard to get to this position.
After studying economics and political science at Howard University in Washington, she decided to also get a law degree at Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. After that, she managed to break barriers as a prosecutor, vice president, and now a possible new presidential candidate. One thing is clear: we are fans of Kam!

Kamala Harris is of course much more than just her looks. At the same time, politics and fashion have always been inextricably linked, and there is also a bit of empowerment in the style of political women. They don’t say ‘dress for the job you want, not the job you have’ for nothing, of course!

Although Kam is usually seen in a classic blazer and trousers, she also has her extravagant outings. For example, during a state dinner with the Japanese prime minister, she proved that she is not averse to a bit of bling.

Bright purple with a meaningful edge
From blazers to ball gowns, Harris always manages to look stylish and chic. But ultimately, there is one look that takes the cake: Kamala Harris in glamorous purple at the 2021 Inauguration.
This double-breasted purple coat with matching dress not only looks great, it also has important symbolism behind it. Because what do you get when you mix red and blue (the colors of the Republicans and the Democrats)? Exactly: purple! In addition, the outfit was designed by Christopher John Rogers and her heels by Sergio Hudson, two designers of color. And it doesn’t even stop there, because the color purple is often associated with the fight for women’s rights and women’s suffrage.
